Product Description

Carbon Tungsten Valve Tip Connected Piston Rod
Product Overview
The Carbon Tungsten Valve Tip Connected Piston Rod is a high-performance industrial component featuring a dual-metal composite structure. It integrates an ultra-hard carbon tungsten (cemented carbide) valve tip with a high-toughness alloy steel piston rod through specialized joining processes. This product is specifically engineered for extreme operating conditions such as high temperature, high pressure, high flow velocity, and media containing solid particles. It effectively resolves issues like sealing failure and valve tip detachment caused by erosion and wear in traditional metal valve stems. It is widely used in valves, pumps, and hydraulic systems across the petroleum, chemical, power, and mining industries.
Product Structure
This product consists of three main components:
  • Front Valve Tip: Made of carbon tungsten, forming the sealing surface (typically spherical or conical)
  • Rear Rod Body: Made of stainless steel or alloy steel, used to connect to the driving device
  • Connection Joint: The valve tip and rod body are securely joined through high-strength brazing or thermal assembly processes
Core Advantages
  • Superior Wear Resistance, Extended Lifespan: Carbon tungsten valve tip boasts hardness of HRA 90+, offering wear resistance dozens of times greater than stainless steel
  • Composite Structure, Combining Rigidity and Toughness: Features both the rigidity of cemented carbide and the toughness of metal rod, avoiding brittleness and fracture-proneness
  • Tight Seal, Zero Leakage: Valve tip sealing surface is ultra-precisely ground and polished to surface roughness as low as Ra ≤ 0.2μm
  • Secure Connection, Reliable Safety: Utilizes vacuum brazing technology with extremely high bond strength and shear resistance

Product Details
Valve Tip Section: Manufactured from virgin carbon tungsten powder via powder metallurgy, ensuring high density and absence of porosity or inclusions. The sealing spherical surface undergoes three processes: rough grinding, fine grinding, and lapping, guaranteeing perfect spherical contour accuracy for optimal mating with the valve seat.
Rod Body Section: Made of high-quality stainless steel or alloy steel, subjected to quenching and tempering treatment for excellent comprehensive mechanical properties. The surface can be chrome-plated or coated as needed to reduce the friction coefficient within the packing gland.
Connection Joint: Employs vacuum brazing technology, allowing the brazing filler metal to uniformly penetrate the microscopic gaps of the joint interface, forming a strong metallurgical bond. The weld area has a smooth transition with no stress concentration points, capable of withstanding impact loads from high-frequency reciprocating motion.
Application Fields
Industry Typical Equipment Operating Characteristics
Petrochemical High-pressure differential control valves, Discharge valves, Angle valves High pressure, erosion, media containing particles (e.g., coal slurry, coke powder)
