Product Description

Cemented Carbide Mirror-Finished Polished Punch
Product Overview

In precision manufacturing, the surface quality of a punch directly determines forming accuracy and mold service life. Our Carbide Mirror-Finished Polished Punch is specifically designed for high-precision stamping, drawing, and powder metallurgy industries. Using an ultra-fine grain carbide substrate with our exclusive mirror lapping process, it retains carbide's excellent hardness while achieving an ultimate mirror effect of Ra ≤ 0.02μm (nanolevel in some cases). This effectively solves common stamping issues such as material sticking, galling, and abrasive wear.

Key Advantages
  • Nano-level Mirror Effect, Eliminates Galling: Ra 0.01μm - 0.02μm with extremely low friction coefficient prevents built-up edge
  • Superior Wear Resistance, 3-5 Times Longer Life: Hardness HRA 89-93.5 provides significantly longer service life compared to traditional SKD11 or high-speed steel punches
  • Excellent Dimensional Stability: Thermal expansion coefficient approximately 1/2 that of steel maintains micro-hole precision under high-frequency stamping
  • Edge Breakage Resistance & Toughness Balance: Bending strength ≥ 1800 N/mm² reduces the risk of chipping
Applications
  • Electronics Industry: LED lead frames, connector terminals, IC packaging molds
  • Automotive Industry: Airbag components, high-precision fuel injection nozzles, sensor housings
  • Powder Metallurgy: Press-forming of carbide components
  • Specialty Machining: High-speed stamping of motor silicon steel sheets, high-silicon aluminum alloy blanking
Technical Specifications
Parameter Category Item Standard Specification / Range Remarks
Substrate Material Material Grade YG6X, YG8, YG10X, YG15 Can be recommended based on application
Density (g/cm³) 14.5 - 15.0 -
Hardness (HRA) 89.0 - 93.5 Higher value = better wear resistance
Bending Strength (N/mm²) ≥ 1800 Higher value = better toughness
Machining Accuracy Roundness ≤ 0.0005 mm (0.5μm) -
Straightness ≤ 0.001 mm / 100mm -
Surface Quality Mirror Grade Ultra-mirror / Standard mirror / Rough ground -
Surface Roughness (Ra) ≤ 0.01μm - 0.02μm (Ultra-mirror)
≤ 0.05μm (Standard mirror)
≤ 0.1μm (Rough ground)
Lower value = smoother surface
Surface Luster Bright silver / Mirror reflective effect No tool marks, no drag lines
Dimension Range Diameter (mm) 0.10 - 50.00 0.10-1.0mm is micro-diameter specialty
Overall Length (mm) 20 - 300 Recommended length-to-diameter ratio ≤ 15:1
Head Shape Flat / Spherical (R-radius) / Tapered / Stepped / Custom profile Fully customizable per drawing
Key Characteristics Coefficient of Friction ≤ 0.1 (against steel, unlubricated) Extremely low due to mirror finish
Thermal Expansion Coefficient Approx. 4.5 - 5.5 * 10⁻⁶/°C Approximately 1/2 that of steel
Modulus of Elasticity (GPa) 600 - 650 Very high rigidity, resistant to deformation
Usage Reference Recommended Guide Bushing Clearance 0.002 - 0.005 mm (per side) Too little clearance may cause seizure
Max. Stamping Speed Reference Application-dependent, up to 300-600 SPM High-speed stamping requires rigid press
