Tungsten Carbide Material Definition

Carbide, Short for Tungsten carbide, also called wolfram carbide (WC), is a kind of alloy material made of refractory metal cemented carbide, and binder metal through powder metallurgy process by furnace sintering under Min. 2500℃.

It is a black hexagonal crystal with a metallic luster, and the chemical formula is (WC). The melting point of tungsten carbide is 2870℃, the boiling point is 6000℃, the relative density is 15.63g/cm³ (18℃), the pure tungsten carbide is fragile, so adding a small amount of cobalt, titanium and other rare metals, can reduce its brittleness.
